Lynset Boarding Kennels and Cattery has been established in Athlone for over 30 years. The kennels are located on ten acres of open fields in the lush countryside of Ballykeeran.
Although we are mainly a dog and cat boarding service, over the years we have cared for horses, rabbits, pigs, chickens, birds and even fish. We provide the highest quality care for your pets. This has remained at the heart of our business since we began in 1987. With professional service, top quality facilities, and the highest standards of care and attention, you can be assured that your pet will receive a top class service during their stay with us.
Lynset Kennels is run by Johanne Duff who started working part-time at Lynset in 1994 while still in school. She then went on to further pursue her studies by attending Writtle College in Essex. After successfully graduating with a BSc in Animal Science, Johanne returned to Athlone to take up a full time position at Lynset as yard manager and head dog groomer.
Johanne moved to Cork in 2011 and worked as a Veterinary Assistant for Blarney Vet Clinic before returning in 2017 to take over the running of Lynset Kennels from the Dowling family.
We are open all year round and our Kennels and separate Cattery are designed for comfort and security.
We cater for long or short stays for all makes and shapes of dogs and cats. As well as boarding accommodation for dogs and cats, we offer a full grooming service.
